Symposium on Philosophy of AI:
Reality+: Scientific and Philosophical exploration about AI-Human Relationship
The rapid development of artificial intelligence has opened up new avenues for philosophical inquiry, prompting us to rethink fundamental questions about human consciousness, AI subjectivity, and related issues. As AI becomes increasingly integrated into everyday life, how should we understand the relationship between humans and AI, and how should we approach and use these tools?
This symposium brings together scholars and experts with extensive experience researching AI-related issues. Drawing on perspectives from philosophy and science, it will explore the relationship between humans and AI through questions such as: Can AI possess human-like consciousness? How does our understanding of consciousness shape our perception of subjectivity in large language models? What are the limitations of large language models formal reasoning abilities, and how might they be addressed? Amid the rapid advancement of AI, what significance does embodied everyday life continue to hold for human beings?
Through interdisciplinary dialogue, we hope to deepen our understanding of these questions and offer fresh insights into AI’s impact on human society and how we might live alongside it.
We warmly welcome everyone interested in these topics to join us, either in person or online.
