Biography

I received my bachelor’s degree (2015) in Physics and Philosophy (double-major) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Ph.D. (2020) in Philosophy from the University of Virginia. My dissertation is “Scientific Realism and Quantum Theories.” I am currently a post-doctoral fellow at the Institute of Philosophy in Chinese Academy of Sciences. My research centers on the philosophy of quantum mechanics, in particular, the foundations of quantum mechanics.

Research Interests

My area of specialization is Philosophy of Physics (and Philosophy of Science in general). In particular, I work on the foundations of quantum mechanics. My current work centers on realism about quantum mechanics and interpretations of quantum mechanics, with a particular interest in Bohmian mechanics. Some questions I focus on are: How to empirically distinguish two or more underdetermined quantum theories? How to construct a relativistic version of Bohmian mechanics? Does the wave function represent something real?
